For centuries acupressure has been used to aid in healing but if lying on a bed of nails doesn’t appeal to you (owwwww!) bed of nails has developed a better way to relieve chronic pain and induce relaxation without penetrating the skin.

The pressure of the rounded nails against the skin is thought to help the body release endorphins which in turn naturally bring on energy, and with the release of oxytocin, pain relief. It can help create a sense of relaxation and addresses a host of health issues such as chronic neck and back pain, headaches, sore muscles, stress, and can even help you sleep.

We got the small BON pillow to review ($50.) and immediately tried it. Within a few minutes, we felt our body relax and after 5 minutes it helped relieve the stored stress in our shoulders. After 10 minutes we were so soothed we thought we could have taken a nap.

Unlike other brands on the market, Bed of Nails has more round nail plates which translates to stimulating more points with less pressure. (The back mat has 8,820 hypoallergenic plastic nails!)

Science says acupressure:

  • Moves blood to the area.
  • Transports oxygen and nutrition into the cells.
  • Releases oxytocin and endorphins.
  • Begin body restoration.
  • Activates the parasympathetic nervous system.

Where have these been all my life?
