An organization called “Paws of War” is reuniting soldiers with pets they rescued and bonded with while on tour overseas. Many of the dogs were starving and afraid, and the service personnel wanted to bring them back to the States with them.
The Paws of War, War Torn Pups & Cats program is supported entirely by donations.
The program’s slogan is “Helping Both Ends of the Leash” and as anyone who has a pet knows, animals are great emotional support, especially for soldiers in wars.
Through the program, over 600 dogs and cats have safely arrived in the US and have been adopted by service members.
