Calling the Council “a protector of human rights abusers and a cesspool of political bias” US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley announced that the US is withdrawing from the UN Human Rights Council.
Coincidentally, the day before the announcement the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights called the separation of children from their parents at the US border as ‘unconscionable.’
