In all the 6 January committee hearings so far we had yet to hear from someone who was in the room as it all happened. Until today.

Cassidy Hutchinson sat a mere 10 seconds away from the Oval Office and as White House Chife of Staff Mark Meadow’s aide, she was privy to all the key covnerastaions and actions taken on the days leading up to Jan 6th and critically, on that day as well.

In her last minute testimoney today she gave damning first -hand accounts of what happened.

The White House knew there could be violence on Jan. 6.

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe told the White House the event could be “dangerous for the president’s legacy”, while counsel Pat Cipollone expressed concerns it would look like the White House was inciting a riot. And when Trump was informed on that many of his supporters were armed he replied:

‘Take the effing mags away.Who cares if they have weapons, they’re not here to hurt me.’

As a reminder, five people died that day.

Meadows said that Trump thought Pence deserved chants calling for him to be hanged.

Ms. Hutchinson reported:

“I remember Pat saying something to the effect of, ‘Mark, we need to do something more, they’re literally calling for the vice president to be f—ing hung.’ And Mark had responded something to the effect of, ‘You heard it, Pat, he thinks Mike deserves it, he doesn’t think they’re doing anything wrong.”

Trump became enraged when told he couldn’t go to the Capitol due to security concerns.

‘I’m the effing president, take me to the Capitol now,’ Hutchinson said he ordered.

When Secret Service refused, Hutchinson said agents told her that he lunged at the steering wheel of his car (known as ‘The Beast’. )

‘Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. We’re going back to the West Wing, we’re not going to the Capitol,’ Hutchinson was told Secret Service agent Richard Engel said.

‘The Beast.’

‘Mr. Trump then used his free hand to lunge towards Bobby Engel,’ Hutchinson recalled.

Former Deputy Chief of Staff Tony Ornato ‘motioned toward his clavicle,’ she added, as if tyo strangle him.

In her moving testimony the 25-year-old expressed that she was ‘disgusted’ by Trump tweeting that Pence ‘lacked courage’ after the former vice president rejected his boss’s plot to overturn President Joe Biden’s electoral victory.

‘It was unpatriotic, un-American, and we were watching the Capitol being defaced because of a lie,’ Hutchinson added.

Reportedly, some of Trump’s aides responded  to the testimony saying her testimony was “a bombshell” with potentially huge repercussions for Trump.  “This is a bombshell. It’s stunning. It’s shocking…I don’t have words. It’s just stunning,” said one Trump adviser.
