Philip Roth, 85, died today of congestive heart failure in a hospital in New York. 

The Pulitzer Prize-winning author was famous for his controversial books including  “Goodbye, Columbus and Five Short Stories,” “The Plot Against America,” “Everyman,” “Portnoy’s Complaint” and “I Married a Communist.’
