Chris Rock was in Boston, the first stop on his comedy tour, and international and national news outlets clogged the entrance. Tickets were going for as much as $1,000.
But if you came thinking he would talk about the slap heard around the world, you were sadly mistaken.

Taking the stage to a long ovation, the comic, obviously overwhelmed, pleaded with the audience:
“Let me do a show, y’all. Don’t get all misty and s—.”
After a slight pause, Rock looked out into the sold-out Wilbur Theatre and asked: “How was your weekend?”
Then it was business as usual.
