Most of the GOP voted NOT to impeach Trump for inciting the January 6th Capitol riot, which means that the former President is likely to be acquitted.

Though the trial doesn’t begin until February 9th, Senators were sworn in this week and immediately voted to object.

Many Republicans questioned the ‘constitutional basis for impeachment’ considering he is no longer President.

The Democrats vehemently disagree. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer said Tuesday that the Republican argument is “flat-out wrong by every frame of analysis — constitutional context, historical practice, precedent and basic common sense.”

Reminder: The pro-Trump mob at the Capitol cost 4 people their lives. One police officer and 4 rioters.

How soon the GOP seems to have forgotten.
