After Meghan and Harry’s explosive Oprah interview, many are pointing to John Oliver’s 2018 video when he was on Stephen Colbert’s Late night show just months before the Royal Wedding and warned Meghan not to marry into the ‘fundamentally flawed’ and ’emotionally stunted’ Monarchy.
He added that he would ‘not blame Meghan if she pulled out at the last minute.’
The British-born talk show host also told Colbert that ‘I don’t think you need to have just seen the pilot episode of The Crown to get a basic sense of… she might be marrying into a family that could cause her some emotional complications.’
Now we know — sadly — how prescient Oliver really was.
