Happy indictment day to all that celebrate.
Ahead of the historic indictment of former President Donald Trump, security has massed in front of Trump Tower in New York and also at the courthouse, with street closures expected as the Secret Service escorts him to his arraignment.
Competing protests are forming in the Collect Pond Park, outside of the court, but no arrests have been made. Mayor Eric Adams had warned would-be-protestors that police will not tolerate and violence or criminal behavior from protesters.
“Our message is clear and simple: control yourselves. New York City is our home, not a playground for your misplaced anger,” Adams said.
Earlier this morning, the press outnumbered protestors.
