George and Amal Clooney are standing up against hate by donating a million dollars through their Clooney Foundation for Justice to the Southern Poverty Law Center, a non-profit organization committed to fighting hate groups.
“Amal and I wanted to add our voice (and financial assistance) to the ongoing fight for equality. There are no two sides to bigotry and hate,” George said in a statement, indirectly criticizing President Trump for saying “hate on many sides” led to violence at a white-supremacist rally. “What happened in Charlottesville, and what is happening in communities across our country, demands our collective engagement to stand up to hate.”
