One of Trump’s most vocal former lawyers suddenly pleaded guilty to conspiring to overturn the results of the 2020 U.S. presidential election. This way Sidney Powell avoids a criminal trial which could have put her behind bars.

By admitting to six criminal counts and accepting a sentence of six years probation, the strident lawyer entered her plea just a day before jury selection was set to start in her trial.

Most importantly, she has agreed to testify against her c0-defendants, namely Trump.

Former prosecutor Elie Honig said the Powell plea deal was a ‘really big breakthrough for the prosecutors’ as they pursue Trump.

As he told CNN: ‘It’s so important to understand there is no such thing as halfway cooperation.

‘If you’re a prosecutor, you would not enter into this deal with Sidney Powell unless you had been thoroughly convinced that she is telling the truth, she is going to be able to testify for you credibly in the way that you can put in front of a jury.’
