The so-called ‘Hush Money’ case begins today with jury selection as Trump declared the trial an ‘Assault on America!’
This trial – one of many – is examining the hush-money payments Trump made to Stormy Daniels so she wouldn’t go public with their affair. That’s not the illegal part. The fact that he is accused of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in an effort to cover up the payment to keep Daniels quiet is the criminal aspect.
Trump just made history as the first time a former president over criminal charges. And since this is a criminal trial, Trump must attend in person.
If convicted, Trump faces up to four years in prison.
