Sen. Cory Booker was in Israel this weekend to give a speech when the deadly Hamas attack began. After an urgent text, he was able to get back to the hotel and shelter in place until a military plane could safely get him out of the country.

“I was in Israel when the horrific attacks carried out by Hamas started on Saturday,” the Democratic Senator wrote on Twitter/X. “My team and I are now safe, but like many we are shaken, angered, and heartbroken by the hundreds killed, the thousands injured, those taken hostage, and all who are directly affected by these sickening terrorist attacks.”
