In a rare Coronavirus task force meeting (only their second this month) Vice President Mike Pence brushed off the increased COVID cases– over 250,000 deaths — saying it was just the media ‘crying wolf.’ Even though the doctors on the task force vehemently disagreed with him, Pence did not urge Americans to adopt more safety measures as the virus surges throughout the States. He was also the only one in the meeting photographed without a mask.
‘We are in an absolutely dangerous situation that we have to take with the utmost seriousness,’ said Admiral Brett Giroir, an assistant secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services and member of the Coronavirus Task Force.
‘This is not crying wolf,’ he said on MSNBC on Wednesday. ‘This is the worst rate of rise in cases that we have seen in the pandemic in the United States.’
