Trump tried to block the visitor logs from public view, claiming it was a national security issue, but Biden just rejected this request and ordered them released to the Jan 6 Committee who are investigating the attack on the Capitol.
Naturally, the committee wants to see who visited Trump on that fateful day and if they had a role in inciting what turned into a riot.
In the ruling, the White House counsel writes that ‘asserting executive privilege is not in the best interests of the United States, and therefore is not justified, as to these records and portions of records.”
On claims about national security, the Biden administration “voluntarily discloses such visitor logs on a monthly basis,” with some exceptions.
It’s worth noting that former President Obama also regularly turned over the visitor logs.
Nothing to hide here.
