Comedian Miriam Margolyes, 82, graces the new British Vogue cover and told the magazine she “wouldn’t want to be straight for anything.’

“Gay people are very lucky, because we are not conventional,” she added in the interview.

 

 

Known for her iconic TV and film roles, she is now known by a new generation for her role in Harry Potter.

Remember, when she came out in 1966 homosexuality was considered a crime, but she says “I never had any shame about being gay or anything really. I knew it wasn’t criminal because it was me. I couldn’t be criminal.”
