Santos announced in a GOP conference meeting that he would be stepping down from his assignments on the Science and Small Business committees, reportedly telling his colleagues that he felt he was a ‘distraction.’ He went on to explain it was his decision; that he wasn’t pushed.

But why would we believe anything he says?

Since the news broke that Santos lied about his education, his work, his mother, his background ….basically everything … a new poll shows 78% of his New York constituents want him gone.

Congress typically boots members from committees as punishment, so perhaps the GOP is trying to minimize the damage.

As calls grow for the liar to be removed, Republicans maintain that it is up to the voters.
