‘America’s doctor’, Dr. Anthony Fauci today warned the Senate that if the US were to reopen too quickly it could turn ‘the clock back rather than going forward’ and trigger an even bigger outbreak.
You will trigger an outbreak as you may not be able to control,’ he said in his testimony before the Senate, adding ‘which in fact will set you back, not only leading to some suffering and death that could be avoided but could even set you back and almost turned the clock back rather than going forward. That is my major concern.’
In a rare ray of hope, the Doctor also said that we may have a vaccine before the end of the year:
‘If we are successful, we hope to know that in the late fall and early winter,’ he said.
