President Biden ended Trump’s ban on temporary foreign worker visas today, in a move applauded by big tech.

Tech companies hire many of their highly-skilled workers from foreign companies using what’s called an H-1B visa.

Trump used an anti-immigration policy to appeal to his base but as soon as Biden won the election technology companies had been lobbying the President to overturn the ban.

In his statement, Biden said, “To the contrary, it harms the United States, including by preventing certain family members of United States citizens and lawful permanent residents from joining their families here. It also harms industries in the United States that utilize talent from around the world.’
