In the very near future, if you develop COVID symptoms you should be able to pop over to your neighborhood drugstore and pick up an anti-viral pill.

That’s what the Department of Health and Human Services is hoping and is spending more than 3 billion to fund research and clinical trials. The so-called Antiviral Program for Pandemics says that it’s possible there could be an entirely new drug by the Fall, not just for COVID but other viruses which potentially could lead to future pandemics

If you think that’s a lot of moola, the U.S. government spent more than $18 billion last year to fund drugmakers of COVID vaccines, which was worth every cent as it turns out because we now have multiple effective vaccines that are saving millions of lives.

Dr. Fauci, who is involved in the program enthused:

“I wake up in the morning, I don’t feel very well, my sense of smell and taste go away, I get a sore throat. I call up my doctor and I say, ‘I have Covid and I need a prescription.’’
