On Tuesday, Moderna said their Covid-19 vaccine is ‘safe and effective in adolescents. ‘
Pfizer already has FDA approval and is vaccinating the 12-15 age group but another vaccine is always useful.
Since the vaccines have already been used safely in adults, it was just a matter of tweaking the current dosage, which speeded up the process.
The report stated the vaccine was ‘100% effective with no adolescents falling ill within two weeks of their second dose compared to four children who received the placebo.’
Moderna says it plans to submit the results to the US Food and Drug Administration in early June along with a request for authorization to use the vaccine in adolescents.
