Under the cover of Hurricane Harvey, President Donald Trump quietly pardoned Joe Arpaio on Friday, the controversial former Arizona sheriff who was accused of illegally going after undocumented immigrants and faced a jail sentence for contempt of court.
Civil rights groups have protested saying Sheriff Arpaio violated the Constitution. Not surprisingly, Arpacio was following Trump’s stance on border security and deportations. This story isn’t over yet.
