‘One Life’ is the true story of how one man, Nicholas Winton, saved over 600 Jewish children in Czechoslovakia from the Nazis during WWII by bringing them to England, in an operation that became known as Kindertransport.

He never spoke of his deeds but much later, on a 1988 episode of the BBC talk show “That’s Life,” he was surprised when he was seated in an audience made up of the now gown-children he had rescued.

It’s a moving story, made all the better by Hopkin’s restrained performance.

Sir Nicholas Winton died in 2015.
