No surprise, Taylor Swift won the big awards.
For many, the highlight of the show was when the boy band *NSYNC came on stage to present her with an award.
“I am not doing well pivoting from this to this. I had your dolls. Are you doing something? What’s going to happen now? They’re going to do something and I need to know what it is,” she said, looking at Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick, as she collected best pop. “You’re pop personified, so to receive this from your golden pop hands, really, it’s too much.”
Shakira won the Vanguard Award but her slick performance was better suited to the Super Bowl halftime show rather than a purported music show.
Oh, and PUFF DADDY/ P. DIDDY/DIDDY did an animated set of all his hits to celebrate winning the Global Icon Award. That was fun, except for all the ‘BEEPS’ to cover language.
