Rescuers are in a race against time to find the submersible with five people aboard that has gone missing in the North Atlantic. On a dive to the Titanic, the Titan lost contact with its surface vessel – the Polar Prince – an hour and 45 minutes after it began a dive to see the wreck on Sunday.
The Coast Guard warns that Titan has only about 41 hours of oxygen left.
The United States Coast Guard is coordinating with the Canadian Coast Guard and the Canadian Armed Forces, as well as commercial deep-sea firms, military planes and sonar buoys.
