We’re just learning that special counsel Jack Smith is looking at a Dec. 18, 2020 meeting in the Oval Office where Trump asked his team for ‘options’ to overturn the election.
Coincidentally, this comes after Jack Smith’s team grilled Rudy Giuliani last month.
Reportedly, other witnesses have testified that the ‘unhinged’ meeting turned into a shouting match.
Previous testimony has revealed the meeting involved former national security adviser Michael Flynn, former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, and former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne and West Wing advisers.
Apparently, the former president considered some outrageous proposals — including invoking martial law — to keep him in power after losing the election to President Biden. This despite strident objections from his White House legal counsel.
According to witnesses at the meeting, one of the proposals was to have the Defense Department seize voting machines.
It would have been the end of democracy if Trump had been able to carry through on any of these plans.
