The jury in the Kim Potter case — where a white policewoman mistook her gun for a taser and fatally shot Daunte Wright —  has just been found guilty of manslaughter.

In a rare verdict for a police officer, Potter will face years in prison, even though both the defense and the prosecution agreed she made a mistake when she drew her gun instead of her taser.

The prosecution argued — successfully as it turned out — that given Potter’s extensive training and years on the force, that she should be found guilty of manslaughter.

Kimberly Potter is scheduled to be sentenced at a hearing on Feb. 18.
