Tuesday’s Jan 6the Committee hearing focused on the links between former President Trump and the far-right extremist groups such as the Oath Keepers who took Trump’s tweets about ‘fighting’ political opponents and summoning them to the Capitol as a call to action.

Proving that Trump ‘courted’ the extremist groups he could manipulate, the Committee called on a former Oath Keeper, Jason Van Tatenhove who reiterated that he and other Trump supporters acted ‘directly in response to the President’s tweet’ which he explained was a ‘call to arms.’

“I think we’ve gotten exceedingly lucky that more bloodshed did not happen because the potential has been there from the start,” Van Tatenhove told lawmakers.

In his testimony, the former Oath Keeper stunningly says ‘Let’s not mince words about the dangers of the Capitol insurrection and the group’s hope for violence.
