In court today, authorities dropped a bombshell in the Idaho murders case, revealing that Bryan Kohberger’s DNA was found on a knife sheath at the scene.

They then matched the DNA  after secretly going through the trash at his home.

From the detective today:

“I noticed what appeared to be a tan leather knife sheath laying on the bed next to Mogen’s right side (when viewed from the door).

‘The sheath was later processed and had “Ka-Bar” ‘USMC” and the United States Marine Corps eagle globe and anchor insignia stamped on the outside of it.

‘The Idaho state lab later located a single source of male DNA (suspect Profile) left on the button snap of the knife sheath.

That DNA sample was sent for lab processing and then onto the FBI’s genetic genealogy branch, which lead them straight to Kohberger.

As well, a study of Kohberger’s phone records and surveillance camera footage from Pullman, WA – where he lived – and Moscow, ID – the murder scene – revealed that he visited the area 12 times before November 13, the night of the killings.
