On Thursday, survivors were dug out of the rubble of the theatre in Mariupol bombed by Russian forces — despite the fact that ‘children’ was written in Russian in large letters on two sides of the building.

Hundreds of city dwellers had taken shelter from there from the constant bombing of their city. Rescuers say the number of casualties is still unknown.

Ukraine’s defense minister Oleksii Reznikov on Thursday branded the Russian pilot who bombed the Mariupol theater a “monster.”

 

 

 

Residents of the besieged Ukrainian city of Mariupol have described the situation there as ‘unbearable’ and ‘just hell.’

Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of people are currently trapped still trapped in the city and as many as 2,500 civilians have died in Mariupol, Ukrainian officials estimate.
