On Wednesday night, a 40-year-old suspect went on a killing rampage in Lewison, Maine, killing at least 18 people as he went from a restaurant to a bowling alley.

As an intensive manhunt is underway, residents were warned to shelter and all public schools have been closed.

The shooter has been identified as Robert Card who is a certified firearms instructor and a member of the US Army Reserves.

Officers guard the entrance to the emergency room at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden in a statement Thursday,  called the rampage “yet another senseless and tragic mass shooting,” and urged Republican lawmakers “to fulfill their duty to protect the American people” and work on gun laws.

“Once again, our nation is in mourning,” he said. “Today, Jill and I are praying for the Americans who’ve lost their lives, for those still in critical care, and for the families, survivors, and community members enduring shock and grief.”
