Engine 18 in Charlotte, N.C. was heading back to the station after answering a call on a blistering hot day when they saw children trying to fill their kiddie pool by carrying pots of water from their kitchen. At that rate, it was going to take all day, so the firemen pulled over and attached their hose to the fire hydrant to help out. The neighborhood heroes stuck out for some playful fun too.

“Today, after leaving a medical call, Engine 18 stumbled across a family desperately trying to fill up a kiddy pool by filling pots from the sink for a little boys birthday on this sweltering day,” Charlotte Fire Station 18 posted on Facebook on Sunday.
