An employee at Russia’s state Channel One television interrupted the channel’s news program with a brave anti-war protest. The protester, who was identified by Russian media as Marina Ovsyannikova, burst onto the set of the live broadcast of the nightly news on Monday evening, shouting ‘Stop the war. No to war’ and holding up a sign.

In English, the placard read: “No war. Russians against war.” And in Russian, it said: “NO WAR. Stop the war. Don’t believe propaganda. They are lying to you here.”

Reports say she was arrested and taken to a Moscow police station.
