The secret is out.

When we went to review YUME Sushi Bar the new little sushi spot in Studio City, there were already lines of people waiting patiently for tables. So much for keeping it to ourselves.

“Yume” which means  “dream” in Japanese features fresh sushi, and innovative dishes — corn tempura anyone? — in a bright, wood-paneled restaurant with an attentive staff.

Start with the Miso soup with tiny shiitake mushrooms ($7), then we recommend the Citrus Rolls (spicy tuna with avocado, lemons, garlic chips, cucumber and soy paper) for $22 and move on to the Mixed Tempura Appetizer ($16) which is easily split between two people (though someone hogged the shrimp.)

We also tried the spicy tuna on crispy rice, which was delightfully light and tasty.  while our eating companion went straight for the Salmon Sashimi which he declared fresh, buttery and gives an A+ for presentation. (MP.)

By all means, indulge in some of the aforementioned Corn Tempura ($14) which are crunchy and delightful.

The signature sauces, such as the Citrus Ponzu are made in-house, and you can taste the difference. For advice on sake, we asked our server who was very knowledgeable and we loved the dry one she chose for us. They know their stuff.

For those who prefer take out the YUME Box is a great deal at $30 which is packed with Yume roll (spicy tuna topped with tuna, avocado, sautéed mushrooms, arugula, garlic chips), truffle edamame, four pieces of sushi (chef’s choice), truffle avocado toast and the garlic albacore roll.

‘YUME’ recommends reservations and we second that!
