Actor David Soul, famous for his role as ‘Hutch’ on the popular TV show ‘Starsky & Hutch’ died at 80.
While most people remember him for his TV role, he also had a #1 hit with ‘Don’t Give Up On Us.’ In fact, he first pursued a music career in New York before moving to L.A. to take up acting.
Paul Michael Glaser played his fellow detective Starsky, and wrote about Soul:
“(he) is and will always be my best friend, my brother.”
In one of his last interviews, Soul told The Sunday Times of London:
“I’ve had it all,” he said. “I’ve been a No 1 [star] in the world for a while — not now. I’ve had No 1 records around the world — not now. I have six wonderful children. I’m married to a wonderful woman. I’m happy. I’ve explored, I’ve seen, I’ve done.”
