On Monday, Russia sent a fleet of deadly drones to bomb Kyiv, leading to casualties and massive building destruction. The damage could have been much worse but Kyiv’s security forces were able to shoot down 36 of 42 attack drones. Despite their claim that they only hit ‘military’ targets, Russia routinely bombs apartment buildings, markets, and public areas.

Now Ukraine is pleading with their western allies to supply the country with more advanced air defense systems.

Drones have been part of the Russian strategy since the beginning but have increased in use after they acquired new drones from Iran.
