CBD in the Beauty Industry has blown up with brands now boasting about the ingredient in everything from skin oils, shampoo, and even nail polish.

Popular because of CBD’s natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatory effects, it is still so new that they are no industry standards for monitoring the quality and strength of CBD within cosmetic products. And some products contain such a small amount of CBD that it shouldn’t even be labeled as an ingredient.

Read the ingredients carefully so you get what you pay for.

Paula’s Choice CBD + retinol says it helps treat ‘both the causes and effects of aging, promoting a firmer, smoother, younger-looking complexion.’  We gave it three weeks and we liked the results. Since Retinol can dry out the skin adding  CBD to soothe the skin makes sense. Well worth the $54 price tag.

Plant People’s RESTORE CBD Face mask. $59.99.

Plant People only make herbal solutions (well-known for their tincture drops) so you know it’s a safe product. Their RESTORE ‘brightening, nourishing, rejuvenating mask’ comes packed with full spectrum hemp extract and 19+ potent botanicals. We liked this mask so much that we bought more. $59.99. For all skin types.

Most Wanted Radiant Facial Oil. $98.

The ‘Most Wanted Radiant Facial Oil’ from Feelist is infused with 500mg Broad Spectrum CBD, and also packed with vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that ‘calm, soothe and revitalize the skin’. A little bit goes a long way and it soaks in quickly. It quickly moisturized our winter-dry skin and gave us a healthy glow.

At $98 for a 1 oz bottle, it is by far the most expensive of the products we reviewed but it also has more CBD than all the others.

YENSA’s CBD Superfood Face Oil comes in a green, Genie-like bottle, so we expected some magic. Packed with antioxidants and omega-rich CBD ‘Superfood Oil’ it contains 100 mg CBD and 8 100% pure ‘SuperOils’ (the antioxidants)  that do a good job of moisturizing and soothing stressed skin. We liked that it absorbed quickly and showed results in less than a week. $68.

We reviewed the organic brand Eco Lips line of  CBD ME lip Balms, which debuted in time for the cold winter months. Debuting with three lip balms with 30mg CBD, flavors include Lavender Mint, Lavender Orange, and Natural (which contains no essential oils or organic flavors.) Months later, it’s still our favorite lip balm. $7.99 each.

The Crème Shop CBD Ultra Tinted Lip Balms – $14 .

The Crème Shop CBD Ultra Tinted Lip Balms are fun on a stick. The chubby CBD-infused ultra-tinted lip balm are jam packed with vitamins and fatty acids to help heal and moisturize dry lips. And we like that we get a dash of color in the bargain. Only $14 each.

(Note that Amazon doesn’t allow the sale of CBD products. Any products you find on Amazon when you search for CBD beauty products are likely made with hemp seed only. CBD is found in the flowers, stalks, and leaves of the hemp plant. It’s not found in the seeds.)
