When you have fine, straight hair as we do, it’s a daily battle to get a little lift. That’s why we were excited to try SH-RD Red-Ginseng Hair-Activating Shampoo ($30 for 6.76 oz) which claims to provide instant volume.
The star ingredient is derived from Red Ginseng, which stimulates your hair follicles while adding volume and also encouraging long-term hair growth. Mixed with chamomile essential oil and a blend of natural teas that includes black, Rooibos, and Camellia Green, this high-antioxidant combination purports to soothe and nourish your scalp while providing UV protection, softness, and shine – and it works.
We have been using this shampoo for about a month and every time we wash with it our hair is sleek, shiny, and full of volume (with a little help from an upside-down blow dry!). It feels fresh and tingly on the scalp, in a good way, and the scent is lovely with notes of bergamot, cardamom, and verbena. Our bathroom smelled like a steam room at a fancy spa.
The SH-RD Red-Ginseng Hair-Activating Shampoo is free of sulfates, parabens, and petrolatum and it has earned an ongoing place in our regular hair-washing rotation.
