In his recent address, Pope Francis said that parents of gay children should not condemn them but offer them support.

“Never condemn your children,” he said.

In 2020, the progressive Pope approved civil unions — a first for any Pope.

“Homosexual people have the right to be in a family. They are children of God,” Francis said at the time. “You can’t kick someone out of a family, nor make their life miserable for this. What we have to have is a civil union law; that way they are legally covered.”

And yet, the Catholic church will not bless same-sex marriage ceremonies in the Church.
