When the Democratic House Managers and Trump’s legal team started scrapping on the floor, throwing insults back and forth, Chief Justice John Roberts was forced to step in, scolding both sides:

“I think it is appropriate for me to admonish both the House managers and the President’s counsel in equal terms to remember that they are addressing the world’s greatest deliberative body,” Roberts said. “One reason it has earned that title is because its members avoid speaking in a manner and using language that is not conducive to civil discourse.”

Despite stellar showings by Democrats, notably Adam Schiff, the Republicans shot down 11 amendments, including the chance to subpoena witnesses (hello, John Bolton.)
The only decision they agreed on was procedural — each side will now have three days each to make their 24 hours of trial arguments. Stay tuned.
