Technically, it was actor William Shatner, best known as Captain Kirk, who took the 11-minute flight on Blue Origin which he described as ‘overwhelming and the ‘most profound experience you could imagine.’ At 90, he is now the oldest person to go to space.

 

Amazon’s Jeff Bezos was on hand to open the capsule door once it landed and pin the ‘space wings’ on Shatner and the three other passengers who traveled with him.

 

“I hope I can maintain what I feel now. I don’t want to lose it,” said the newly-minted astronaut.
