Remember reading about the Singapore Airlines flight in May, which encountered severe turbulence, and injured many of the passengers? The plane was diverted to Bangkok and more than 100 passengers were treated at the hospital. Most of the passengers and crew members who were badly injured didn’t have their seat belts on.

Now the airline has announced that it would pay $10,000 to those who sustained minor injuries, and for passengers with ‘serious’ injuries, they’ll provide a payment of $25,000 to address their “immediate needs” and further discussions to meet “their specific circumstances”.

Sadly, a 73-year-old British passenger died (from a heart attack) on that flight.

The company said it would offer a full fare refund to all passengers on the flight, including those who did not suffer any injuries.
