Editor’s note: Our idea of roughing it is when the hotel doesn’t have 24/7 room service, so we asked a real outdoorsman to test the VSSL Nest Pour Over Kit with the Java G25 Coffee Grinder. Here’s what he thought.
We wanted to read the instructions and walk through the steps before taking it out into the wild.
First Impressions, it comes in some really nice packaging, and the Grinder feels like a very sturdy and beautifully crafted device. Think double-walled stainless-steel construction with a BPA-free lid and storage connector. Dual threads enable the 5-piece kit to assemble into one compact unit perfect for travel or any adventure. $235. for the entire system.)

We dove into the instructions to brew the perfect coffee, everything was pretty well explained and easy to follow along.

First step was to grind up the beans by hand, it’s a really ingenious design how much power it can generate. It made short work of the coffee beans and they were then poured into the reusable coffee filter.

The next step is to get the water to the exact right temperature and pour over the ground coffee beans in the reusable filter.
Taste test, the pour-over yielded a really nice tasting cup of coffee.
The real beauty of this kit is how it all fits together into a modular stacked coffee system that  you can easily tuck into a backpack and be brought along for any activity.
