The aptly named ’10th annual White Trash Bash’ on the Illinois River this last weekend was attended by over 500 people drinking and carousing…despite the fact that cases of COVID are climbing across the country. Police estimated over 200 boats participated and none of the crowd were wearing masks.

Known for it’s wild partying and drunk fights, police had warned the crowd about taking precautions in a Facebook post:

Big surprise; no safety precautions were observed.

When a reveler was quizzed about whether he was worried about catching the deadly virus, he replied:

‘Definitely not. Not at all.’

Meanwhile, Illinois reports 180,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and more than 7,5000 deaths.

In two weeks, the ICU’s will be overflowing with partiers from the White Trash Bash.
