With so many hydration products on the market, it’s hard to choose or know which are the most trusted or beneficial for your health. I’ve tried Liquid IV, which has an odd flavor (pricey, too), and Gatorlyte by Gatorade, which has the ghastliest orange color! I even split it into two large glasses of water, and it still didn’t dilute the color. Nix this for the scary color alone, and who knows what amount of color dye content!

I’ve been drinking the NativePath Native Hydrate Electrolyte & Amino Acid Drink Mix, which comes in a 9.95-ounce container that supplies 30 servings ($43 on Amazon). It’s sugar-free, has only 5 calories, and contains 3000 mg of essential amino acids per one-scoop serving. It’s a powder substance with a small scoop inside that you mix with a large glass of water.

It comes in three flavors: Berry, Tangerine, and Mango Peach. If you purchase directly from their website, they offer a 365-day money-back guarantee and deals.

NativePath co-founder Dr. Chad Walding is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Senior Wellness Expert. NativePath aims to “restore human health and vitality by helping others rediscover the Native way to eat, move and live through online community support, informative resources, and whole food supplements.” The website offers an array of nutritional products based on health focus.

I tried the “hydration health focus” and both the Tangerine and Mango Peach Native Hydrate. Both have a pleasant flavor. I mixed it in a large glass of water and added ice to make it like a “drink.” It has a slew of supplements that far surpass Liquid IV and Gatorlyte (these have higher salt levels and not many ingredients).

The NativePath company claims that “every scoop of Native Hydrate is consistently formulated to FLOOD your body with 3000 milligrams of the highest quality amino acids, pure electrolytes, and just 200mg of sodium (less than a quarter of a teaspoon!)”

Proper hydration is important as we age and Native Hydrate claims “amino acids work to strengthen muscle and nerve function, including those that are essential to bladder control, while supporting optimal hydration with the support of electrolytes.” Note that these claims have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration (disclaimer).

Before taking any supplement or vitamin-fused product, one should consult with their doctor. In the meantime, I will keep drinking Native Hydrate and see how it helps in the long term.
