You’ve seen it on the news and social media.

As a murderous father and son shot and killed 15 people Sunday night at a Hanukkah celebration at the popular Bondi Beach, a hero jumped the still-shooting father and disarmed him.

Ahmed el Ahmed, a 43-year-old father of two from Syria, as seen in the video, crept up behind the shooter and grabbed him from behind. Before he tackled the shooteer, he told a cousin that he expected to die in the attempt.

Ahmed was shot twice in the arm during his heroic act and was rushed to a hospital for surgery, but is now doing well.

Supporters started a fundraiser, which has collected nearly $1.5 million in less than 24 hours.

Meanwhile, after the tragic deaths of 15 people at the Bondi Beach massacre, Australian federal and state government leaders agreed to immediately overhaul already-tough national gun control laws.
