As the Delta virus continues to take lives across the US, President Biden is expected to tackle the administration’s plan to fight the virus, and the main thrust will be a push for more vaccine mandates in his speech later today.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki hinted as such on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Thursday morning, saying:

‘What we’ve seen work over the past couple months are mandates, requirements, making it so workers in the federal government or others have to get vaccinated. We’ve seen it work and we’ve seen it become more popular.’

Biden reportedly plans to call for a global summit, to be held during the U.N. General Assembly later this month, addressing how best to respond to the worldwide pandemic and plans to get more vaccine supply to the developing world.

His speech kicks off at 5 p.m. ET time.
