There are two types of skincare products: the ones that quietly work… and the ones that make you look like a swamp creature mid-use: but somehow leave your skin looking incredible after. Enter Roseblem’s Bubu-Clean Holy Basil Carbonated Bubble Mask – aka what I’ve officially dubbed the ‘Shrek mask.’

Yes, it’s green. Yes, it bubbles. Yes, you will question your life choices for about three minutes. Stick with it and trust the process!

The Experience:

Application is simple: clean skin, generous layer, avoid the eyes (important as the mask expands!) Within 3–5 minutes, the mask starts to activate, bubbling up into a full-on foamy situation that honestly looks like something out of a TikTok skincare rabbit hole.

And that’s exactly where I first saw it – those oddly satisfying videos of people letting the mask fully inflate before massaging it in with the included spatula. Naturally, I had to try it.

Once it reaches peak “Shrek,” you gently massage it in and rinse.

Pro tip for guys: if you’ve got facial hair, really rinse. Otherwise, you may temporarily look like you lost a fight with a matcha latte. A buff puff helps here.

What It Actually Does

Underneath the theatrics, this thing works.

The oxygenating foam technology acts like a mini vacuum for your pores, helping lift out impurities, excess oil, and buildup. It’s powered by a mix of ingredients like glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, microalgae polysaccharides, kaolin clay, and holy basil extract (which also gives it that fresh, slightly herbal scent—big fan).

After one use, my skin looked noticeably brighter, smoother, and – most impressively: my pores looked tighter and cleaner!

And importantly:

· Not drying

· Not greasy

· Doesn’t strip your skin

Which is rare for anything that claims to deep-clean this aggressively.

The Only Downside

It clogged my sink so perhaps wash off in the shower.

Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting – maybe rinse with a little strategy.

Who It’s For

If you’re someone who:

· Deals with clogged pores or blackheads

· Wants a quick, no-fuss mask (3–5 minutes, done)

· Enjoys skincare that’s actually a little fun

This is an easy add to your routine. Use it once or twice a week and call it a day.

Final Take

There’s a lot of noise in men’s skincare right now, but every so often something cuts through – and this does, while adding a little fun humor at the same time.

It’s simple, effective, slightly ridiculous in the best way, and delivers real results.

You’ll look like Shrek for five minutes… and then somehow like you’ve been drinking water, sleeping eight hours, and making good life decisions.

Not bad for a mask! Roseblem lists the mask at $155, but you can find that same exact mask on Amazon.com for $13.99 here. Your skin will thank you!
