After the teacher at  Tallahassee Classical School showed her sixth-grade students a picture of Michelangelo’s famous “David” statue,  parents complained and the teacher was forced to resign.

Now the Italian museum that displays the statue is getting involved.

Florence Mayor Dario Nardella said “mistaking art for pornography is just ridiculous” and invited HFope Carrasquilla to the city.

Nardella said he will “personally invite the teacher to Florence to give her recognition” on behalf of the city. “Art is civilization and whoever teaches it deserves respect.”
