For ‘certain’ visitors, the U.S. wants 5 years of social media history. This follows Trump’s latest immigration move — to pause all applications from 19 ‘high-risk’ countries of concern.”
As part of his immigration crackdown, Trump now proposes that visitors from those countries submit five years’ worth of social media information.

There was no information on how this would work.
As someone who scrubbed their social media going back a month before re-entering the US (and I’m an American citizen!) this is a horrifying thought.
As the proposal stands, people from these ‘certain’ countries planning to visit the U.S. would be asked to provide five years of their social media history; email addresses used in the past 10 years; telephone numbers used in the past five years; and private information about family members, including their addresses and telephone numbers.

What are they looking for?
Chances are, Border officials will be looking for anti-American sentiments or people involved in anti-American groups. Using AI tools, they could scan for certain keywords.
The real worry is whether immigration could deny entry to posts critical of Trump and the GOP.
